RECYCLED PAPER

INDI is a Lithuanian design studio that creates original lighting and home design objects. We work using recycled paper technology. The material we create allows us to create designs that naturally look like they are made of concrete. The lightness of this material gives us the freedom to experiment with shapes and forms for which conventional concrete would be too heavy. This allows you to get extraordinary textures that look like an industrial monolith, stone or concrete.

We recycle paper (former press releases, newspapers, shredded office paper...) by shredding it. The paper is poured with water and left to soak. Paper pulp is obtained during the grinding process. The cellulose is then mixed with special ingredients (water-based glue and sometimes colored pigments). The mixed mixture can be used to model various shapes or cover surfaces. The material dries and hardens in 5-10 days. Then the surface can be polished, covered with water-based varnish or paint. This technology allows us to create our own original designs, as well as to collaborate with other designers and architects. We use local secondary materials, low pollution production technologies and ensure the secondary use of materials in our design products. We consider INDI to be the first Lithuanian circular design brand. In this way, we contribute to the circular economy course.
