WORKSHOPS
Biomaterials Library develops hands-on workshops that approach materials as a way of learning, questioning and making together. Since 2024, the programme has brought artists, designers, researchers and participants from different backgrounds together to explore local biological resources, production side streams, living systems and alternative material processes.
Each workshop is led by a practitioner with a distinct field of knowledge—from mycelium, agricultural fibres and food waste to natural binders and artistic biotechnology. Rather than teaching one fixed solution, the sessions combine context, experimentation and direct material experience, allowing participants to understand how materials change through place, tools and available resources.
Knowledge developed through these encounters continues beyond the workshop through the physical collection, exhibitions and our growing archive of open recipes.
Biocomposite Material Production Workshop “Out of the Woods”
The goal of this creative workshop is to explore new material connections arising from by-products of the wood industry. Pine resin (rosin), pine bark, and wood dust merge to form new structures, functions, and aesthetics.
The mycelium preparation and cultivation workshop "Basics of Mycology"
In this creative workshop, participants had the opportunity to explore the basics of mycology and microbiology and delve into the nuances of cultivating mushrooms and mycelium.

Workshop on Utilizing Local Agricultural Waste "Hempcrete Production Technologies"
The goal of this creative workshop is to introduce participants to the production of hemp concrete mixtures and to approach fiber hemp as a medium for interior architecture and design.
