COFFEE WASTE BIO-RESIN

The Coffee Waste Bio-Resin project explores the transformation of locally collected coffee residues into a versatile biomaterial with unique aesthetic and functional potential. Developed in Vilnius using coffee waste gathered from local cafés, the material embodies circular design in practice — turning daily organic waste into new creative resources.

This bio-based thermoplastic can be cast, pressed, applied, or hand-shaped, allowing for diverse surface and object design applications. Its properties make it lightweight, durable, and fully recyclable, meaning it can be reheated and reformed into new objects, extending its lifecycle indefinitely.

The material’s warm, natural tones and tactile texture evoke the sensory qualities of coffee itself — rich, organic, and grounding. Beyond its surface applications, the Coffee Waste Bio-Resin is now being developed into tableware, sculptural pieces, and interior elements, forming a bridge between material research, craftsmanship, and sustainable design.

Perfect for interiors, installations, or experimental design projects, the material redefines waste as a living medium for artistic and functional innovation.
